The panel, which PESB recommended for the selection of National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC) CMD, completed the stipulated period of one year on 18.03.2024 after that the recommendation is presumed to be scrapped.
The top post has been under the ad-hoc arrangement after Sumit Deb, the then CMD, retired on 28.02.2023. Since then, the senior most Board-member Amitava Mukherjee, Director (Finance) is holding the additional charge of the CMD.
It may be underlined that PESB had selected Sridhar Nadimatla (IAS: 1997: TG), the then CMD of Signgreni Colleries. If well-placed sources are to be believed, the concerned ministry has written to the public-sector head hunter (PESB) to proceed for the selection process afresh.
