Santosh Sinha has been appointed as the new Managing Director of Central Warehousing Corporation (CWC), effective immediately, with a tenure extending until his superannuation on September 30, 2027. Currently serving as Executive Director (Projects and Services) at Container Corporation of India Limited (CONCOR), Sinha takes over the role that has been vacant since February 2022, following the fatal accident involving former MD Arun Kumar Shrivastava.
Prior to this appointment, the MD position at CWC was managed on an ad hoc basis by Amit Kumar Singh (IRTS: 1987), Director (Marketing & Corporate Planning) at CWC. The Search-Cum-Selection-Committee (SCSC) selected Sinha for the MD role on May 4, 2024, after an extensive selection process.
It is worth noting that the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) had earlier found none of the candidates suitable during a selection interview on November 14, 2022, leading the Department of Food & Public Distribution to pursue the Search-Cum-Selection route to identify a successor for Shrivastava.
