The Government of India has extended the tenure of Satish Kumar (Retd. IRMS: 1986) as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Railway Board for a period of one year. The extension will be effective from September 1, 2025, and will be on a contractual basis.
Satish Kumar, a veteran officer of the Indian Railway Management Service, has played a key role in driving modernization and operational efficiency within Indian Railways. His continued leadership is expected to provide strategic direction to the national transporter in its ongoing reforms and infrastructure initiatives.
