New Delhi: Senior Advocate Kapil Sibal has won the election to the post of the President of the Supreme Court Bar Association. Sibal secured 1066 votes, while the next contender Senior Advocate Pradeep Rai got 689 votes. The incumbent President Senior Advocate Dr Adish C Aggarwala secured 296 votes. Sibal last served as the president of SCBA in 2001-02.
Sibal served twice before that as well – in 1995–1996, 1997–1998. Total six candidates contested for the post of the president. Senior advocate Rachna Srivastava was elected to the post of Vice President and advocate Vikrant Yadav as secretary of the association in the polls held on Thursday.
