New Delhi : Senior IAS officer Praveen Prakash (IAS: 1994: AP) has sought voluntary retirement (VRS) from the Indian Administrative Service effective from 30.09.2024 which the Andhra Pradesh government has given its nod.
Praveen Prakash, once one of the most powerful civil servants in Andhra Pradesh, is a forward-looking man and a proactive civil servant who always led by example. As Principal Secretary to the then Andhra CM Jagan Mohan Reddy, he proved himself time and again. During his tenure at the Centre as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Human Resource and later in Housing & Urban Affairs ministry, he was considered as a few promising bureaucrats however the establishment failed to recognise his competence to give his due in career progression at the Centre.
A section of bureaucrats who knows him for his goodwill and social skillsets believes that Prakash may take a plunge into politics but another section, who gives more weightage to his competence and professional outlook, believes that he would join the corporate world.
