In a significant development for the Indian Economic Service (IES), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the empanelment of seven officers to the Senior Administrative Grade (SAG) for the year 2025. The promotion to SAG, which carries the pay scale of Level 14, marks a major milestone in the career trajectory of IES officers serving across various ministries and departments.
The officers empanelled are:
Chandrani Gupta (IES: 2007)
Bhumika Verma (IES: 2007)
Swayamprava Pani (IES: 2007)
Prasanth Chandran (IES: 2007)
Mukesh Kumar (IES: 2007)
Urmila (IES: 2007)
Praveen Kumar (IES: 2007)
Their selection highlights both their professional merit and the rigorous standards applied during the empanelment process overseen by the ACC.
Madanpal Singh Not Empanelled
However, not all officers from the 2007 batch shared in the advancement. Madanpal Singh, also an IES officer, was not empanelled for promotion to the SAG. While the ACC has not provided specific reasons for the decision, such non-empanelments are often attributed to factors such as pending vigilance clearances, adverse entries in Annual Performance Appraisal Reports (APARs), or unresolved departmental proceedings.
