Shashvat Kumar, a 2016-batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer from the Tripura cadre, has been appointed as Commandant (Superintendent of Police level) in the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB). His posting comes against an existing vacancy in the force. The appointment reflects a routine cadre-level adjustment aimed at strengthening the leadership structure within the SSB, which is one of India’s key Central Armed Police Forces tasked with guarding the country’s borders and maintaining internal security.
