Srinivas Gotru, an Indian Foreign Service (IFS) officer of the 1997 batch, has been appointed as the next Ambassador of India to the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). Currently serving as the Joint Secretary in the Ministry of External Affairs, Gotru brings a wealth of experience in diplomatic and international relations. His appointment is expected to further bolster India’s strategic engagement with ASEAN, an important region in India’s foreign policy. As Ambassador to ASEAN, Gotru will play a key role in strengthening India’s ties with the member countries of the organization.
