The first accident took place around 12:00 midnight at kilometer number 226 near Sirdharpur village, where a truck was reportedly parked blocking part of the road. An Agra Fort-bound roadways bus crashed into the stationary truck from behind, injuring 14 passengers. Police reached the spot promptly and shifted the injured to Bangarmau Community Health Centre with the help of five ambulances. A hydra crane was called to remove the damaged vehicles.
While police were clearing the site and taking the damaged truck to Pritampura outpost around 2:30 am, another Agra Fort-bound roadways bus collided with the same truck from behind. In this second accident, three passengers died, and 17 others were injured.
In total, 31 passengers were injured in both incidents. After initial treatment at Bangarmau CHC, all injured passengers were referred to the district hospital for further medical care.
The deceased have not yet been identified, and their bodies have been kept in the postmortem house. Kotwal Akhilesh Chandra Pandey stated that the truck was parked on the roadside and preliminary findings suggest that both accidents may have occurred due to drivers dozing off. Police are investigating the matter and efforts are underway to identify the deceased.
