Following the repatriation of Union Coal Secretary Amrit Lal Meena (IAS: 1989: BH), the Centre has appointed V. L. Kantha Rao (IAS: 1992: MP), currently Secretary of the Ministry of Mines, to take on the additional charge of Secretary, Ministry of Coal. Rao will manage this role until a permanent Secretary is appointed.
In related news, the notification also highlighted that Manoj Kumar Dwivedi (IAS: 1997: AGMUT) has commenced his duties as the Establishment Officer in the Department of Personnel & Training. He assumes this role following the departure of Deepti Umashankar (IAS: 1993: HY), who has been appointed Secretary to the President of India.
