Vijay Kumar, an officer of the Indian Police Service (IPS) from the 1997 batch, has made history by becoming the first officer to join the Delhi segment from the Jammu & Kashmir segment of the AGMUT cadre at the Additional Director General (ADG) level. This marks a significant milestone, particularly given that the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir only came into existence in 2019, following the reorganization of the state. Prior to that, Jammu & Kashmir had been a separate cadre.
