Vijay Nehra, an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the 2001 batch from the Gujarat cadre, has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Department of Health & Family Welfare. His appointment is for an overall tenure of five years, up to October 31, 2028, succeeding P Ashok Babu (IAS: 2003: Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Nagaland).
