New Delhi, The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the empanelment of 35 Indian Police Service (IPS) officers for holding Director General (DG) or equivalent level posts at the Centre.
The empanelled officers are from various state cadres and belong to senior batches of the IPS. This empanelment clears the way for their consideration for top leadership roles in central police organizations and other key security and administrative positions.
Such empanelment is a routine but significant step in senior-level appointments within the Government of India, aimed at ensuring a pool of experienced officers is available for leadership roles in internal security, law enforcement, and intelligence.
