New Delhi, The Government of India has approved a one-year extension in service for Saurabh Garg (Retd IAS:1991:OR) as Secretary, Ministry of Statistics & Programme Implementation (MoSPI), on a contract basis. His tenure will now continue up to July 31, 2026.
Garg, a retired Indian Administrative Service officer of the 1991 batch from the Odisha cadre, has been serving as Secretary, MoSPI, bringing in a wealth of administrative and policy experience. His extension aims to ensure continuity in the ministry’s key initiatives related to data governance, statistical reforms, and programme monitoring.
