In a significant administrative overhaul, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has carried out a major reshuffle of senior bureaucrats across ministries, appointing and elevating multiple officers to the rank of Additional Secretary in the Government of India

The latest reshuffle by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet includes officers from various services, batches, and cadres, reflecting a wide-ranging administrative reorganization at the top level.
Among the key appointments, Puneet Kansal has been named Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Civil Aviation, while Mona K Khandar has been appointed Additional Secretary in the Department of Social Justice & Empowerment.
Faiz Ahmed Kidwai has been appointed Additional Secretary in the Department of Personnel & Training, whereas Vir Vikram Yadav takes over as Director General of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), replacing Kidwai.
In another key move, Gyanendra D Tripathi has been appointed Additional Secretary in the Department of Agricultural Research & Education and Secretary of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR). Vishal Gagan has been appointed Secretary of the Central Information Commission (CIC) in the rank of Additional Secretary.
N Gulzar has been posted as Member Secretary of the National Capital Region Planning Board (NCRPB), while Diwakar Nath Misra has been appointed Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Power.
Further, Debasish Prusty has been appointed Additional Secretary in the Department of Financial Services, and Sridhar Chiruvolu has been elevated in-situ as Additional Secretary in the Prime Minister’s Office.
Other notable appointments include Arti Kanwar (Ministry of Textiles), Darpan Jain (Department of Commerce), and Anuj Sharma along with Lokhande Prashant Sitaram in the Ministry of Home Affairs.
Ankita Mishra Bundela has been appointed Additional Secretary in the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, while Vijay Nehra and Siddharth Jain have been elevated within their respective departments.
Neetu Kumari Prasad has been appointed Additional Secretary in the Department of Revenue, and Meenaxi Rawat has been named Additional Secretary & Financial Advisor in the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change.
Additionally, Ansuman Pattanaik (Corporate Affairs), Yashvir Singh (Commerce), Nigar Fatima Husain (Commerce & Industry), and Aparna Bhatia (Consumer Affairs) have been appointed to key Additional Secretary roles.
Hari Har Mishra and Veena Kumari Dermal have also been appointed to senior positions in the Finance and Mines ministries respectively.
In addition, two IAS officers — Sarita Chauhan Chand and Pankaj Yadav — have been elevated in-situ to the rank of Additional Secretary as a personal measure by temporarily upgrading their posts.
This large-scale reshuffle is expected to enhance administrative efficiency and strengthen governance across key ministries and departments of the central government.
