The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved a series of senior-level appointments, additional charge assignments, and deputation-related decisions across various ministries and departments.
- The additional charge of Secretary, Ministry of Panchayati Raj has been assigned to Abhilaksh Likhi (IAS: 1991: HY) till May 20, 2026, during the leave period of Vivek Bhardwaj (IAS: 1990: WB). Likhi is currently serving as Secretary, Department of Fisheries under the Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying.
- Kurve Sachin Shardchandra (IAS: 2003: UD) has been appointed Chairperson (JS level) of Chennai Port Authority for a period of five years, replacing Sunil Paliwal.
- Jasmeet Singh Bindra (IRTS: 1997) has been appointed Chairperson (JS level) of Visakhapatnam Port Authority for five years, replacing M. Angamuthu.
- Gopal Meena (IAS: 2007: BH) has been appointed Development Commissioner (JS level) of Noida Special Economic Zone for a period of five years.
- The ACC also approved the ex-post facto entrustment of additional charge of Chairperson (JS level), New Mangalore Port Authority to Sushil Kumar Singh (IRSME: 1993), Chairperson of Deendayal Port Authority from December 1, 2025 to May 31, 2026, or until a regular incumbent takes charge.
- Similarly, S. Viswanathan (IAS: 2008: MP), currently Deputy Chairperson of Chennai Port Authority, has been given additional charge of Chairperson of the authority for six months from December 1, 2025 to May 31, 2026.
- Dipankar Mahto (IP&TA&FS: 1998) has been appointed Jute Commissioner (JS level) in the Office of the Jute Commissioner, Kolkata under the Ministry of Textiles till his superannuation on December 31, 2028.
- Pankaj Agrawal (IAS: 1992: MP), Secretary of the Ministry of Power, has been assigned additional charge of Secretary, Ministry of Coal from May 9 to May 19, 2026, during the leave of Vikram Dev Dutt.
- Sudhansh Pant (IAS: 1991: RJ), Secretary of the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment, has been entrusted with additional charge of Secretary, Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities from May 9 to May 24, 2026.
- Anand Madhukar (IRPS: 1997), Additional Director General of the Archaeological Survey of India under the Ministry of Culture, has been prematurely repatriated to his parent cadre to avail promotional benefits in the cadre.
