The NaMo administration has appointed Ajay Seth (Retd IAS: 1987: KN), former Union Finance Secretary and Secretary, Department of Economic Affairs (DEA), as the new Chairman of the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI).
Seth, who retired from government service on 30th June 2025, will serve a three-year term in his new role. His appointment comes at a crucial time for India’s insurance sector, and his vast experience in economic policy and financial regulation is expected to bolster the ongoing reforms and growth initiatives within IRDAI.
