Senior IAS officer Alok Ranjan Ghosh (IAS: 2011: BH) has been appointed as Director in the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT). His tenure will be effective up to 02 February 2030.

Currently serving under the Bihar cadre, Ghosh’s appointment is seen as part of ongoing administrative strengthening at the central level. The DoPT plays a critical role in personnel management, administrative reforms, and policy formulation for the Indian bureaucracy.

His long-term posting reflects confidence in his administrative acumen and aligns with the government’s objective of ensuring continuity in key policy and personnel functions.
