Anand Swaroop (IPS: 1992: UP), presently serving as Director General (Investigation) in the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), has been appointed as Special Secretary (Internal Security) in the Ministry of Home Affairs.
He has been appointed in place of Praveen Vashista (IPS: 1991: BH) and will hold the post up to 31 August 2029, which is the date of his superannuation.
