Ahead of the T20 World Cup 2026 final between the India national cricket team and the New Zealand national cricket team, Kiwi captain Mitchell Santner acknowledged the threat posed by India’s star pacer Jasprit Bumrah. Cricket fans are eagerly waiting for the T20 World Cup 2026 final where the India national cricket team will take on the New Zealand national cricket team at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Both teams have several match-winning players who can change the course of the game on their day. However, the player currently drawing the most attention is India’s fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah.

Bumrah’s exceptional performance in the semifinal against England has become a major talking point. The Indian pacer turned the match around with his brilliant final two overs, helping India secure a crucial victory. His performance has clearly made an impression on the New Zealand camp ahead of the final.

Speaking at the pre-match press conference, New Zealand captain Mitchell Santner said that Bumrah deserves all the attention he is getting. He noted that Bumrah’s spell against England was instrumental in changing the momentum of the semifinal. Santner described him as a “world-class bowler.”

However, Santner also emphasized that Bumrah is not the only threat in the Indian lineup. He said the Indian team has multiple players who have delivered strong performances in different matches, whether with the bat or the ball. According to him, New Zealand will need to plan for the entire Indian team, not just one player.

Talking about the pressure of playing a final, Santner said it is easy to say that it is just another game, but everyone understands that a final carries a different level of intensity. He added that the team must prepare in the same way they do for any other match.

Santner also pointed out that T20 matches often depend on a few key moments that can quickly change the course of the game, and such moments are likely to play a decisive role in the final as well.
