New Delhi: Jatin Kumar Nayak, who was serving as Executive Director (Finance) at REC Limited, has assumed charge as the new Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of the Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Limited (IREDA).
The post had remained vacant since June 30, 2026, following the superannuation of former IREDA CMD Pradip Kumar Das.
Nayak brings with him over three decades of rich and diverse professional experience in the power, energy and financial sectors. During his career, he also served as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of the erstwhile REC Transmission Projects Company Limited, a subsidiary of REC.
Earlier, he worked with several prominent public sector organisations, including NHPC Limited, Hindustan Copper Limited, National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO) and Neelachal Ispat Nigam Limited.
His appointment as Chairman and Managing Director of IREDA had earlier been approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC).
With his extensive experience in finance and the energy sector, Nayak takes charge of the organisation at a time when renewable energy financing continues to play an important role in India’s clean energy transition.
