In a series of high-level bureaucratic developments, the Government of India has announced several important appointments and deputation extensions across ministries and departments:
Sanjeev Chopra (IAS: 1990: OD) has been assigned the additional charge of Secretary, Ministry of Food Processing Industries following the superannuation of Subrata Gupta (IAS: 1990: WB) on May 31, 2025. Chopra will continue to hold the position until a regular incumbent is appointed. He is presently serving as Secretary, Department of Food and Public Distribution.
Vir Vikram Yadav (IAS: 1996: OD) has been given the additional charge of Chairman, Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) until a regular appointment is made. Yadav is currently functioning as Additional Secretary, Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change.
The Central Deputation of Sanjay Lohia (IAS: 1994: AM) has been extended for a further two years, beyond October 27, 2025, up to October 27, 2027. He continues to serve as Additional Secretary, Ministry of Mines.
Similarly, the Central Deputation of Juhi Verma (IDAS: 2010), who is working as Director in the Ministry of Home Affairs, has been extended by two years, up to September 27, 2027.
Yogendra Singh (IAS: 2013: BH) has been appointed as Private Secretary to the Minister for Textiles, Shri Giriraj Singh, for a tenure of five years.
Anurag Prasad (IRS IT: 1991), serving as Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) of Minerals & Metals Trading Corporation Ltd. (MMTC), has been prematurely repatriated to his parent cadre to avail the benefit of promotion.
