New Delhi : The President of India appointed Justice Sheel Nagu, Judge of the High Court of Madhya Pradesh as the Chief Justice of the High Court of Punjab and Haryana with effect from the date he assumes charge of his office.
Punjab & Haryana High Court has been without a regular Chief Justice since the retirement of Justice Ravi Shankar Jha in October 2023. At present, Justice GS Sandhawalia is the acting Chief Justice of the High Court. Justice Nagu was serving as an Acting Chief Justice of the Madhya Pradesh High Court after Chief Justice Ravi Malimath demitted office on May 24, 2024.
