The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has filed cases against Amit Lodha (IPS: 1998: BH) and his wife, Komudi Lodha, investigating allegations related to disproportionate assets (DA) and other charges. Amit Lodha, currently serving as the Inspector General (IG) at the State Crime Records Bureau (SCRB), was previously the DIG of the Magadh range in Bihar when the state vigilance department initiated the DA case against him in December 2022. The ED’s investigation is linked to this case.
Amit Lodha, whose book The Bihar Diaries was adapted into the Netflix series Khakee: The Bihar Chapter, was suspended following an FIR related to the DA case. According to All India Services Rules, bureaucrats must obtain government permission for any artistic or commercial activities. Lodha reportedly failed to seek the necessary approvals while writing his book and engaging with the production company, Friday Storytellers, which produced the Netflix series. Additionally, he allegedly visited filming locations without proper leave, according to a senior official.
