The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has filed a chargesheet against Padma Jaiswal (IAS: 2003: AGMUT), a former Deputy Commissioner from Arunachal Pradesh, and two others. They are accused of withdrawing government funds and using them to purchase properties in the names of Jaiswal’s relatives.

Currently serving as a secretary in the Puducherry government, Jaiswal faces allegations of abusing her official position for personal gain. The CBI’s investigation, which commenced following clearances from both the state and Central Government, reveals that Jaiswal allegedly withdrew cash from government accounts, prepared demand drafts, and transferred the funds to private individuals’ accounts at the SBI branch in Chandigarh.
