Kolkata: The tenure of Siddh Nath Gupta, Director General and Inspector General of Police (DG & IGP), West Bengal, has been extended by six months beyond April 30, 2026.
With this extension, Siddh Nath Gupta will continue to serve in the position for an additional period, ensuring continuity in the state’s law enforcement leadership.
A 1992-batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer of the West Bengal cadre, he has been overseeing key policing and security operations in the state. The extension is seen as a step to maintain administrative stability and continuity in policing at the top level.
