Gyanesh Bharti Repatriated; Satish Sethi and Akhilesh Kumar Singh Get Key Appointments

The Centre has approved a series of senior bureaucratic appointments and repatriations involving Gyanesh Bharti, Satish Sethi and Akhilesh Kumar Singh.

Gyanesh Bharti, a 1998-batch IAS officer of the AGMUT cadre and Deputy Election Commissioner in the Election Commission of India, has been repatriated to his parent cadre with an extended cooling-off period.

Satish Sethi, a 2000-batch IA&AS officer, has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Lokpal, Department of Personnel & Training. He will replace Abhishek Bhagotia, a 2007-batch IAS officer of the Assam-Meghalaya cadre. Sethi’s overall tenure will be for five years up to July 16, 2028.

Meanwhile, Akhilesh Kumar Singh, a 2008-batch IPS officer of the Maharashtra cadre and currently DIG in the CBI, has been appointed as Joint Director in the Central Bureau of Investigation. He will replace Sudha Singh, a 2006-batch IPS officer of the Odisha cadre, and will serve in the post up to July 22, 2028.
