Dr Bhooma V G, a retired Indian Railway Personnel Service (IRPS) officer, has been selected for the post of Vice-Chancellor of the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Institute of Public Service and Innovation (AIPSI) in Reduit (Minissy), Moka, Republic of Mauritius. The Ministry of External Affairs announced the selection on August 12, 2026.
AIPSI, formerly known as the Civil Service College of Mauritius, was jointly inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Mauritius Prime Minister Navinchandra Ramgoolam in March 2025. The institute is being developed as a premier training agency and centre of excellence for the African region. Dr Bhooma is expected to take up the assignment shortly.
