Kunal Uttam Shrote, a 2021-batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer of the Manipur cadre, has been granted a cadre change to Tamil Nadu. The change has been approved on the grounds of his marriage to Meera P.R., a 2023-batch IPS officer allocated to the Tamil Nadu cadre. As per existing policy, inter-cadre transfers are allowed in cases of marriage between officers from different cadres, subject to approval by the competent authority.
