New Delhi: The Central Government has issued a series of administrative orders involving additional charges, appointments, tenure modifications, and cadre repatriations of senior officers across various ministries and departments.
Niraj Verma (IAS: 1994: Assam-Meghalaya), Secretary, Department of Justice, Ministry of Law & Justice, has been entrusted with the additional charge of Secretary, Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs from June 13 to June 19, 2026, during the leave period of Nikunja Bihari Dhal (IAS: 1993: Odisha).
In another move, Mrunmai Shashank Joshi (IAS: 2013: Kerala), currently serving as Deputy Secretary in the Cabinet Secretariat, has been appointed as Deputy Secretary in the Department of Economic Affairs (DEA), Ministry of Finance, on a lateral shift basis. Her tenure in the new post will continue until March 21, 2027.
The government has also curtailed the tenure of Manoj C (IPS: 2011: AGMUT), who was serving as Director in the Election Commission of India (ECI). No specific reason for the curtailment has been mentioned in the official order.
Meanwhile, Manoj Kumar (IRS-IT: 1994), Additional Secretary in the Department of Investment and Public Asset Management (DIPAM), Ministry of Finance, has been repatriated to his parent cadre on personal grounds.
The latest appointments and administrative changes are part of the government’s ongoing efforts to ensure effective leadership, administrative continuity, and efficient functioning across key departments and institutions.
