New Delhi: The Central Government has approved the extension of the tenure of Chaudhari Uday Gaurishankar (IAS: 2010: Maharashtra) as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC).
According to an official order, his tenure has been extended for a further period of two years beyond June 23, 2026. The extension will allow Chaudhari to continue overseeing key policy and administrative matters related to environmental conservation, forest management, climate change initiatives, and sustainable development.
An officer of the 2010 batch of the Maharashtra cadre, Chaudhari has been serving as Joint Secretary in the ministry and has been associated with several important initiatives concerning environmental governance and climate-related policies.
The extension reflects the government’s confidence in his leadership and is expected to provide continuity in the implementation of the ministry’s ongoing programs and strategic priorities.
