Finance Secretary designate gets fourth responsibility as Secretary, DOPT

Posted on November 5, 2024November 5, 2024 By northsouthblock No Comments on Finance Secretary designate gets fourth responsibility as Secretary, DOPT

After Department of Personnel & Training (DOPT) Secretary Dr Vivek Joshi (IAS: 1989: HY) was relieved to take over as Chief Secretary (CS) of Haryana, the New Delhi establishment today assigned the additional charge of Secretary, DOPT to Tuhin Kanta Pandey (IAS: 1987: OR) who is also the Finance Secretary (designate).
It may be underlined that he is working as Secretary, Department of Investment & Public Asset Management (DIPAM) while holding the additional charge of Secretary, Department of Public Enterprise (DPE) since 01.08.2024. Shouldering four big responsibilities together makes him the most occupied Union Secretary at present.
It is noteworthy that DOPT is looking for stability since July 01, 2024. DOPT has been virtually under ad hoc arrangement since the retirement of Radha S Chauhan (Retd IAS: 1988: UP) on 30.06.2024. Initially, Home Secretary Ajay Kumar Bhalla (Retd IAS: 1984: AM) held the additional charge until Dr Vivek Joshi was appointed on 17.08.2024. After a short stint of nine weeks, Dr Vivek Joshi repatriated to cadre and Tuhin Kant Pandey was roped in as an interim Secretary for DOPT on 04.11.2024.
