The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) on Tuesday issued notifications regarding several appointments, re-designations and tenure extensions at the Deputy Secretary, Director and Joint Secretary levels. The key decisions are as follows:
Haish S (IAS: 2015: CG) has been appointed as Deputy Secretary in the Department of Commerce for a period of four years.
The post of Deputy Director (Deputy Secretary level) at Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA) held by Rajesh Meena (IAS: 2012: BH) has been re-designated as Deputy Director (Senior) (Director level) for a period up to 21.08.2029. His central deputation tenure is effective from 22.08.2024.
The central deputation tenure of T. Mithra (IAS: 2009: KL), Director of Census Operations (DCO)/Director of Citizen Registration (DCR), Kerala under the Ministry of Home Affairs, has been extended to a total tenure of seven years, i.e., up to 19.11.2026.
The post of Deputy Secretary in the Central Information Commission held by Prerna Joshi (IES: 2012) has been re-designated as Director in the same department for a period up to 12.06.2030. Her central deputation tenure will be effective from 13.06.2025.
The post of Deputy Secretary in the Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare held by Arun G (IES: 2012) has been re-designated as Director in the same department for a period up to 20.10.2030. Her central deputation tenure will be effective from 21.10.2025.
The post of Private Secretary (Deputy Secretary level) to the Minister of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare Shivraj Singh Chouhan, held by Ravinder Kumar (IAS: 2012: AGMUT), has been re-designated as Private Secretary (Director level) to the same Minister for a period up to 18.04.2029. His central deputation tenure is effective from 19.04.2024.
Rashmi Kamal (IAS: 2006: WB) has been appointed as Director of Census Operations/Director of Citizen Registration (Director level), West Bengal for a period of three years.
Biswajit Pegu (IAS: 2009: AM) has been appointed as Director of Census Operations/Director of Citizen Registration (Director level), Assam under the Central Staffing Scheme for a period of three years.
Srimant Kumar (ISS: 2011) has been selected for appointment as Joint Secretary (Director level) in the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) for a tenure of five years.
These appointments and re-designations aim to strengthen administrative leadership across key central ministries and institutions.
