New Delhi: The Government of India has appointed Pranay Verma (IFS: 1994), currently serving as Ambassador of India to the Kingdom of Belgium, as the next Ambassador of India to the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg with concurrent accreditation.
According to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Verma will continue to be based in Brussels, from where he will also oversee India’s diplomatic engagement with Luxembourg.
A senior officer of the Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Pranay Verma has held several key diplomatic assignments during his distinguished career. His concurrent accreditation is aimed at further strengthening India’s bilateral relations with Luxembourg, particularly in areas such as trade, investment, financial services, technology, and multilateral cooperation.
The arrangement reflects a common diplomatic practice of concurrent accreditation, enabling India to maintain high-level diplomatic representation in strategically important partner countries while ensuring efficient utilization of diplomatic resources.
Verma is expected to assume his additional responsibilities shortly while continuing his current role as India’s Ambassador to Belgium.
