Smitha Mol M S, currently serving in the Ministry of Civil Aviation, has been appointed as Deputy Secretary in the 8th Central Pay Commission under the Department of Expenditure on a lateral shift basis

Smitha Mol M S (IAS: 2013: TR), who is presently working as Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Civil Aviation, has been appointed as Deputy Secretary in the 8th Central Pay Commission (8th CPC) under the Department of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance.

Her appointment has been made on a ‘lateral shift’ basis and will be co-terminus with the tenure of the 8th CPC. The tenure is further extendable up to April 14, 2029.

The 8th Central Pay Commission is responsible for reviewing and recommending revisions in salaries, allowances, and pension structures for central government employees and pensioners. In this regard, Smitha Mol M S is expected to play an important role in supporting the Commission’s functions.
